Environment
As members of the Energy Savings Trust we recognise the responsibility on us to reduce the impact that our products and services have on our environment.
We aim to create a climate of excellence where our social impact is continually monitored and improved to achieve objectives regulated by our committed management system.
Regarding the Environmental Protection Act & Vinyl 2010 Charter we have a registered recycling partner to ensure we meet this industry standard for the disposal of waste.
Dempsey Dyer are committed to removing and minimising waste from its processes. Our ISO9001 management system drives us to continually improve in areas relating to the production of our products and services. A recent investment of £650,000 has resulted in the reduction of off-cuts and fabrication errors. These key factors not only improve our environmental impact, but enhance customer service and help us maintain a solid customer base.
A number of recent environmental improvements to the way we work have been driven through prior to our implementation of ISO14001, which we expect to be in place by the summer of 2009.
Recycling
Our relationship with our recycling partner enables us to offer a closed loop recycling and manufacturing process. This ensures that "end of life" UPVC products are fully recycled. This process avoids the addition of PVC material to our already overstretched landfill.
UPVC Windows have a life span of up to 35 years and with current technology allowing up to 10 "recycles" we potentially have 350 years of good UPVC material available for use.
Our commitment to the environment and product development has resulted in Dempsey Dyer attaining an "A" rated energy award from BM Trada. This allows us to work with our customers to help them achieve the best possible Standard Assessment Procedure ratings for their dwellings.
