Launched in early 2009 and aimed specifically at the Commercial market, our Dempsey IV Traditional Sash Slider on Spiral Balances with tilt facility utilises the technology of our Dempsey V Sash Sliders on spiral balances with the addition of a tilt back facility for ease of cleaning making it the ideal high-rise solution.

Specification

In April 2009, we successfully tested this window to BS 7950 demonstrating its suitability for high specification Commercial contracts. Please see below for a detailed specification of the product.

Ironmongery & Working Mechanism:

Using spiral balances, fitch fasteners and bar tilt restrictors, this Sash Slider On Spiral Balances With Tilt Facility combines traditional appearance with high-rise functionality. Both Top and bottom sashes tilt inwards to 40° -45° with the restrictor supporting a weight of up to 35kg's.

Drainage:

Using the same principles as our other timber product suites, the Dempsey II Mock Vertical Slider benefits from dry gasket glazed drained glazing rebates allowing any moisture ingress to ventilate to the outside. For high exposure areas, aluminium bottom beads can replace the traditional bottom beads and our internal teams are happy to advise to meet specific project solutions.

Weatherseals & Weather Rating:

Although itself not tested, we would expect the Dempsey IV Traditional Sash Slider On Spiral Balances With Tilt Facility to achieve a 2000+ weather rating as it is based on the design principles of the Dempsey V Traditional Sash Slider on Spiral Balances.

Energy Efficiency:

We have certified test results for our timber Dempsey V Traditional Sash Slider On Cords & Pulleys demonstrating its ability to achieve a whole frame U-Value of 1.5. We are currently re-simulating our windows as we have moved from a 20mm to a 24mm glass unit. This has the effect of improving the centre pane U-Value of the glass and therefore will also improve the whole frame. The results of this will be posted when available.

BS 7950 Security:

The Timba tilt window offers a high security level option. It is certified by BM Trada to BS 7950 and is registered "Secured by Design".
